1. Equator Coffees & Teas at Proof Lab Surf Shop Grand Opening Weekend: Free Coffee, Family Fun & Nighttime Tiki Party (June 22-23)

San Rafael-based Equator Coffees & Teas opens first café at Proof Lab—Mill Valley's hub of surf, skate and art. They’re kicking off a weekend-long celebration June 22 – 23 with a wide-range of activities for the whole family, plus FREE coffee all weekend! 2. Mill Valley Wine and Gourmet Food Tasting (June 23)

The 32nd annual Mill Valley Wine & Gourmet is known as one of Northern California’s premier wine, beer and gourmet food events of the season and fills up quickly.  Each year thousands of food and wine aficionados from around the Bay Area attend the Mill Valley Wine & Gourmet to enjoy this ultimate sensory experience that’s set in one of the County’s most beautiful towns. 3. Race For the Cup Official Launch Party (June 26)

Are you a sailor, or simply excited to watch the summer long sailing event on the bay?

4. Italian Street Painting Festival (June 29-30)

Italian Street Painting Marin showcases the art of the nuovo Madonnari, or modern-day street painters, and the sounds of local Bay Area musicians. Children from toddler-age through age 12 are able to create their own 2x2 square of street art, chalk included, for the purchase price of $10. General Admission tickets are $5.  5. Marin County Fair (July 3-7)

6. Outside Lands (August 9-11)

If you haven’t had the opportunity to attend this three-day music festival in Golden Gate Park consider this your formal invitation! This year’s lineup includes stunners such as Paul McCartney, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Band of Horses. The park is the perfect venue for a late summer concert! The abundance of trees and land allows for a spectacular event to unfold in a very natural and welcoming setting. Families with children often make a day of it with blankets and picnics! Ongoing Opportunities for Summer Fun!

7. NTC's Summer Stars Children's Theater Program

Mon-Fri, June 17-28, 9:30am-3pm

The Novato Theater Company (NTC) has launched "Summer Stars" a summer musical theater program for children that will commence in June. A great alternative to the general sport or adventure camp, get your little artists on the stage with the chance to create their own masterpiece! 8. Friday nights on main 2013

On the last Friday of each month this summer Downtown Tiburon will be hosting al fresco wining and dining, live music, dancing, fun for the kids, and prolonged ferry service to/from the city for all to enjoy! The next one is June 28th with a “La Dolce Vita” theme complete with strolling opera singers and fine Italian cuisine. 10. SFJazz Summer Sessions

Consider heading in to the city for some great tunes and company. “The luminous new SFJAZZ center is the first stand alone structure in the country built specifically for jazz.” Opened in 1988, the SFJazz Company is ramping up their summer style with jam sessions and a plethora of other events and workshops through out the season.  16. Film Night in The Park

Whether a Mill Valley, San Rafael, or San Anselmo native you have the opportunity to take advantage of this wonderful open-air theatre event. There will be 24 screenings in alternating locations on Fridays and Saturdays starting June 21st. For show times, venues, and more information visit here

 

17. Magic Bus

May 1st-September 30th Tues-Sat

Step aboard Magic Bus and back into time. With bubbles in the air and a flower in your hair, feel yourself transported to the Summer of Love. Passing streets blend with historic projections on retractable window screens, creating an immersive experience so you can tune in, turn on and rock out! The hippie hostess will guide you through time and space, telling the story of cultural landmarks and lesser-known secrets of San Francisco's hippie movement. Magic Bus departs from Geary and Powell Streets in Union Square, San Francisco, at 10AM and 12:30PM, More information here.  

18. Creekside Fridays

Every Friday from June 14-August 9, 2013, 6:30PM - 8:00 PM 

Each show is held at The Cabin in Mill Valley in a beautiful  creekside setting featuring a different tribute band each week. Join friends and family, bring the kids, pets, chairs and blankets.  This event is for the whole family. Features local musicians playing great music; a kids play area with face painting, a jumpee, and more. Purchase food and drink (beer and wine) on site. For more information please click here.
