Tiburon's historic and sheik Main Street is known as "Ark Row" because of the 1890s recreational houseboat lifestyle enjoyed in Belvedere Cove by sea captains, Bohemian artists, and summer residents from San Francisco. In winter, the arks anchored in the lagoon. After 1900, the craze for arks waned. Today it is lined with unique and trendy shops, art galleries, high-end waterfront restaurants and casual cafes.

The groomed greenbelt along the walking path just off of Main Street and Ark Row offer unsurpassed views of San Francisco and Marin County, and is one of the most romantic spots in the entire Bay Area.
