Private Schools in Marin County

Private Schools Marin CountyWe get asked a lot of questions about schools in Marin County.  Particularly about what/where are the best private schools in Marin County.   We figured we would give you a breakdown of the private high schools in the area.

Marin Catholic High School, Kentfield (Catholic):  Student body size - 750.  Sponsored by the Archdiocese of San Francisco, Marin Catholic is a Roman Catholic college preparatory school serving young men and women.  Consistent with Gospel values, they are committed to the education of the whole person.  A community that values faith, knowledge and service, they provide their students with a spiritual, academic, and extra-curricular environment.  Two of our boys graduated from this school and our youngest is in the 9th grade, currently.  We would be happy to give you our own feedback.

The Branson School, Ross (Independent): Student body size - 319.  A co-educational, independent, college-preparatory day school. We believe our students are renaissance people by demand.  50 faculty members. Student to faculty ratio is 8 to 1; average class size is 13.

San Domenico High School, San Anselmo (Independent): Dedicated to being California’s leading independent school, serving pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade students of all faiths, San Domenico is committed to excellence in education, preparing the next generation of global leaders.  Boys and girls Pre-K through Grade 8, Girls Grade 9-12.  Read more about the benefits of all girls education.

Marin Academy, San Rafael (Independent):  Student body size - 400.  A co-educational high school committed to scholarship and personal development. Sees the high school years as a critically important time when students are discovering who they are, what they value, what they enjoy, and where they are headed. Wants students to develop the skills and knowledge that will serve them well now and in the future.  Student to faculty ratio is 9:1; average class size is 15.

North Bay Christian Academy, Novato (Christian): Student body size - 93.  Caring community of Christians commited to serving God's purposed, imparting a christian worldview, nurting the intellectural, emotional, spiritual, social and physical development of students, equipping students, in partnership with the home and the church, to become transforming influences in the world.

The Marin School, Sausalito (Independent): Student body size - 100A fully-accredited college preparatory high school offering a dynamic, thought-provoking curriculum that propels its graduates to colleges and universities around the US.  A strong community, that  prides themselves on small class sizes and personal attention.   They honor each student’s unique learning style and act in accordance with an unshakeable belief in the potential of each and every student. Student to faculty ratio is 7:1; average class size is 8.  School is moving to San Rafael in April 2013
