Like real estate throughout the country, Marin County, CA real estate is subject to the fluctuations of the market. This area, however, has remained consistently popular with residents of the Bay Area and beyond. Part of this is the constancy of the market. While many areas see a continuous flood of new housing erected almost constantly, Marin County has the characteristic of being a stable community with a great deal of upscale housing. These communities also provide residents excellent access to the many areas of natural beauty which characterize this county.

Marin County also has the advantage of being close to San Francisco but not so close that every community feels as if it’s in a major urban center. Despite this sense of removal from the hustle and bustle of the city, there are resources throughout the community that make commuting to the city very easy; easier, in some cases, than commuting from closer parts of the Bay Area. This makes the area popular with those who work in San Francisco but who do not want to live in the middle of the city and who desire something more tranquil than life in the city can afford.

Some of the more popular communities in Marin County, CA include Novato, Mill Valley, San Rafael and Sausalito. The county is located proximate to wine country and many of the residents of this area enjoy outdoorsy lifestyles which include hiking, biking and exploring the local preserves and parks. The lifestyle, while definitely Bay Area in its diversity, vibrancy and excitement, is also much calmer than many nearby areas. The county has a reputation for having excellent school districts, as well, which makes it popular with families young and old. This area has never really suffered from a loss of popularity, the market notwithstanding.
